Laura's Class 2025 - 2026

Summer Term 1 2026

Hello and a very warm welcome back to all children, parents and staff. I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break.

In Laura’s Class this term our topic is ‘Life on the Ocean Waves’.

In English we will be reading Pirate Pete and writing short stories. History will link very closely to English and we will learn about Captain James Cook. We will also be learning about Kenning poetry. Kenning poems are like riddles - the reader has to guess what they are all about e.g. treasure stealing (pirates).

In PE this term we will be focusing on ‘invasion games’, which involves attacking and defending sports such as football, hockey, netball, basketball and dodgeball! The pupils will improve their throwing, catching, passing shooting skills.

Our focus in this term’s Science lessons is ‘Living Things and their Habitats’. We shall be looking at all things living on our planet! From plants to animals, the pupils will learn about their classifications, their basic needs and where they live and why. We will also be looking at the impact that humans have on their environments, both positively and negatively.

Please come back soon to see what we have been up to,
