Laura's Class 2025 - 2026

Happy New Year! Welcome back to all children, parents and staff! We hope you enjoyed the winter festivities.

In Class Laura, our topic this term is “Weather Around the World,” linked to our Geography learning. The children will be exploring a variety of weather across the world’s continents.  We will also be looking in depth at extreme weather conditions such as tornadoes and tsunamis.

This topic links with Food Technology, “Desserts Around the World.” The children will be looking at sweet treats from different countries before designing and making their own.

In PE the children will be learning a range of balances, rolls and jumps, before combining these skills to create a smooth and fluent gymnastic sequence.

Our Science focus this term is “States of Matter.” The children will learn all about solids, liquids and gases, exploring their properties and particles before carrying out some exciting, hands-on experiments.

In English, our topic is “Myths and Legends.” The children will explore famous tales such as Thor: The God of Thunder and Medusa, using them as inspiration for their own writing.

In Maths, the children will develop their calculation skills through addition and subtraction, before moving on to volume and capacity, fractions, and statistics.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via the home–school diary or the class email.

We are looking forward to exploring these topics!
