Summer Term 2 2026
Hello and a very warm welcome back to all children, parents and staff. We hope you enjoyed the half-term break and are excited for our final few weeks of the academic year! In Laura’s Class this term our topic is ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’.
In English, we will be looking at newspapers and journalistic writing. We shall be looking at the different types of news and how they are presented to us in different mediums. The children will then be planning, writing and presenting their very own news reports! In poetry, we will continue with reading new Kennings poems and writing our very own.
In Geography the children will be looking at Great Britain deep diving in to the countries, flags, capital cities and famous landmarks that we are famous for.
In PE this term the children will be focusing on Athletics. The pupils will work on their jumping skills (high, long and triple jump), throwing skills (javelin and shotput) and both their long and short distant running! This will also prepare them for our Holly Grove Sports Day!
