World War 2

Date: 5th Dec 2025 @ 11:41am

In History this term, we have been learning about the events of World War 2. This week, we experienced what life was like for the children during the war. Our pupils looked at old photographs of evacuees, discussing such topics as their clothing, the contents of their suitcases and how they must have felt when leaving their loved ones for the countryside.
The children then looked at some interesting artefacts, such as the currency from that period and everyone’s favourite item; the gas mask!
We also had great fun reacting to the noise of the air raid siren; the pupils have learnt to switch off all the lights and get down to the ground when they hear the haunting blare of the siren!
