Hello everyone. Well we are coming to an end of our Witches and Wizards topic in Alison’s class. We have worked really hard on exploring our senses during this exciting topic. We have loved exploring a variety of Autumnal themes such as angel delight hedgehogs, magical sensory potions which we mixed ourselves to create a different variety of textures and smells. We were lucky enough to have Andrew come in to school to teach us some interesting ways to use leaves and sticks to create beautiful autumnal pictures by painting, tracing and mark making. We also had weekly sessions with our friends Ed and Rachel from Live Music Now – we explored different instruments, songs and beats to a variety of autumnal themed songs, and we finally created a performance as a class which was simply amazing!
We have enjoyed our sensory ‘In the Hairy Scary Castle’ story and Halloween themed dance massage during this topic, allowing us to use our senses whilst having a physiotherapy session to relax and engage our bodies for learning.
We are certainly ready to begin our festive, Christmas topic now and will be looking forward to exploring all the sensory elements of Christmas, cinnamon, gingerbread, pine cones, tinsel and many more exciting festivities. Our sensory story throughout the Christmas period will be ‘A Christmas Carol’.
