Holly Grove have been celebrating British Science Week, an annual event which lasts ten days and celebrates Science amongst other subjects. During the week, people of all ages across the UK are encouraged to organise and take part in engaging activities and events.
All pupils and staff have been taking part in daily fun Science tasks set for each class and there has been an experiment to complete after watching a demonstration from Holly Grove’s own ‘Michael the Mad Scientist, which is now available to view on the school’s FaceBook page.
We also had another special guest ‘Jungle John’ who brought a ‘Creepy Crawly Show’ including a snake, which some children and staff were brave enough to put on their shoulders! Thank you to Rosie Barraclough for organising this show.
Also another thank you to Michelle Grimshaw for helping put together a special ‘Science Newsletter’ for parents containing lots of ideas on how to help your child develop a scientific mind.
Well done everyone for joining in and making Science Week a successful one!
